About Balance

Balance Media was formed by PR/media trainer Alison Spink and journalist Tim Glynne-Jones to provide expert media training for sport. We have since been joined by BBC Sport reporter Ivan Gaskell.

Our combined skills enable us to put together training workshops that are tailored to the demands of modern sport and benefit from first hand experience of media interviews from both sides of the fence.

Alison Spink is a former England netball international who started her career in PR and has gone on to build a reputation as a specialist media trainer in the healthcare sector. Her training expertise in highly sensitive subject areas, coupled with her experience of playing top level sport, gives her a unique perspective in this field.

Tim Glynne-Jones has been a writer and editor of books and magazines since 1985, specialising in sport. As editor of BBC Match of the Day magazine and spokesman for groundbreaking website MyFootballClub.co.uk, he has experienced the sports media circus as both interviewer and interviewee.

Ivan Gaskell is a sports reporter for the BBC. He joined BBC Sport in 1997, after working on East Midlands Today for 10 years. He worked on World Cup coverage in 2002 and 2006, and is a regular reporter on Football Focus, Match of the Day and Final Score.
